What you'll achieve As a Senior Principal AI Platform Engineer, you will serve as a technical leader and architect for Dell's AI development ecosystem. You will drive the design and strategy for our core AI platform, making critical decisions that enable scalable, efficient, and innovative AI development across the organization. Your role will blend hands‐on expertise with technical mentorship and strategic planning. You will: Lead the architectural design and long‐term technical roadmap for the AI computing platform, define standards and best practices for building and operating robust AI infrastructure, including LLM tooling and custom agentic systems. Evaluate, prototype, and recommend new technologies and tools to keep our platform at the cutting edge. Mentor other engineers on the team, guiding them on complex technical challenges and promoting a culture of engineering excellence. Drive the technical execution of large‐scale platform projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and product roadmaps. Act as a subject matter expert, collaborating with cross‐functional teams including product management, security, and Dell solution architects. Here's what we are looking for with this role: Essential Requirements Master's degree in computer science or a related field with 10+ years of relevant experience. Proven experience architecting, building, and operating large‐scale distributed systems or data platforms. Deep expertise in Kubernetes/OpenShift and cloud‐native technologies. In‐depth knowledge of the AI/ML development lifecycle and the infrastructure required to support it at scale. Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical projects and influence technical direction.
