Who We Are Looking For
Charles River Development is seeking an experienced Cloud Data Platform Engineer responsible for designing, building, and maintaining infrastructure for efficient data processing and analysis. Collaborating with data scientists, data engineers, and stakeholders, the engineer will develop scalable, reliable data platforms, managing data ingestion, storage, transformation, and optimization, while ensuring data security, integrity, and availability. They will also work with cross-functional teams on data governance and quality standards.

Part of Charles River Development (CRD), now a part of State Street since 2018, CRD develops enterprise investment management software for large institutions, including the State Street Alpha platform launched in 2019. We seek candidates excited to work with emerging technologies like AI and Blockchain.
What You Will Be Responsible For
Designing and setting up highly available platform components on Azure and Snowflake
Implementing and managing data platforms and integrations in Azure
Designing and managing replication and transformation technologies
Developing scripts, workflows, and policies for security and compliance automation
Automating infrastructure with Terraform, PowerShell, Bash, Logic Apps, ADO, etc.
Collaborating to develop reference architectures and standards
Configuring and managing CI/CD pipelines on Azure DevOps
Assessing and improving the security posture of cloud applications
Contributing to documentation and knowledge-sharing platforms
Ensuring security controls are properly implemented in cloud solutions

Expertise in designing secure application and data platforms
Understanding of Windows and Linux infrastructure
Passion for learning and sharing emerging technologies
Experience documenting standards and procedures
Education & Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's in a technical or analytical field; Master's preferred
Hands-on experience managing Snowflake environments
Experience with replication tools like Qlik, Fivetran, etc.
Experience with ETL tools like Talend
Experience with reporting and semantic layer tools
At least five years of cloud deployment experience, preferably with Azure
Experience deploying cloud solutions using CI/CD pipelines
Experience with segmented networks in public/private clouds
Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code in Azure or other clouds
Excellent communication, documentation, and troubleshooting skills
Strong analytical skills
Additional Requirements
Experience with multiple public clouds is preferred.
