Senior Optomechanical Engineer ? Quantum Sensors (SRTT-Q.InC) The Quantum Innovation Centre at A*STAR is seeking a Senior Optomechanical Engineer to join our pioneering team in developing advanced quantum sensors for real world applications. This is a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of quantum technology in a collaborative, multi disciplinary environment. About the Role As a senior optomechanical engineer, you will play a critical role in translating high performance quantum sensing platforms from the laboratory into the field. You will also provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineering staff and collaborate closely with other engineering teams across disciplines. Key Responsibilities Lead the design of custom optomechanical assemblies and magnetic field coils while satisfying thermal requirements. C ollaborate with physicists and electronics engineers to package quantum sensors into practical form factors. S upervise and mentor junior engineers, providing guidance on best practices and technical development. C oordinate with cross functional engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and system performance. S upport the transition of prototypes into deployable, real world systems. D ocument projects progress and provide written reports when required. Requirements Bachelor, Master or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Optical physics, Applied physics, or a related field A t least 5 years of relevant industry experience Or a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field. Demonstrated expertise in at least one of the following areas: custom optomechanical design; o ptical alignment and tolerance analysis, d esign of custom magnetic field coils and t hermal analysis. S trong analytical and problem solving skills. P roven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast paced R&D environment. E xcellent communication and leadership skills.
