Senior /Engineer, Electrical Engineering, Innovation You will be responsible for the design, prototyping and testing of electrical and electronic systems for medical device concepts with a focus on PCB assemblies, basic firmware, and small‑scale electronic prototypes. This includes elements of embedded systems engineering such as microcontroller programming and integration with sensors or peripheral devices to enable prototype functionality. You will support the Office of Innovation in fulfilling its objectives of coordinating and managing innovation initiatives under CGH. You will assist the Manager/Senior Manager in overseeing projects and engaging with stakeholders. The job functions include but not limited to : Responsibilities: Product Development Product ideation and design conceptualisation, with preparing design requirement, design intent, market analysis, and feature comparison. Project detail design and develop PCB assemblies and electronic circuits using schematic capture and layout tools. Contribute to embedded system development by integrating sensors, actuators and communication interfaces with microcontrollers. Build and test prototypes using in‑house facilities or engaging external partners. Manage the use and upkeep of electronics prototyping and testing facilities, including PCB equipment, soldering stations, and lab instruments. Conduct design verification and validation, prepare test plans, DFMEA, and document test results. Preparing design brief to engage with internal & external stakeholders. Project Management Coordinate end‑to‑end project from scoping of project, budgeting, preparing funding application, preparing of approval papers, coordination with funders/sponsors, and project closure. General Duties Foster effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and assist the operational and clinical champions in their innovation ideas and projects. Contribute technical inputs when engaging with external funding bodies, IHLs, SMEs, and companies for co‑development of innovation projects. Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field from a recognised university. Those with lesser years of experience, but with strong projects portfolio, are encouraged to apply. Entry level graduates are welcome to apply. Proficiency in designing electrical systems, including schematic design, component selection, and ensuring compliance with safety and performance standards. Experience with PCB design and prototyping, including layout, wiring, circuit simulation, and integration of microcontrollers/processors with peripheral circuits. Experiences with microcontrollers (e.g., Arduino, STM32, ESP32) and basic firmware development for embedded systems. Ability to convert microcontroller‑based prototypes into custom PCB assemblies, including schematic capture, component selection, PCB layout, and firmware porting. Proficiency in using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies for circuit testing and troubleshooting. Understanding of testing and validation processes for electrical and electronic systems, including test plan development, execution, and documentation. Knowledge of relevant regulatory standards and requirements such as ISO 13485, IEC 60601, and FDA regulations for medical devices is an advantage. Experiences with IoT or wireless connectivity (e.g., Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi, MQTT) is an advantage. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation.
