This role involves safeguarding the organization by establishing limits, measuring risk (daily market-to-market, historical value-at-risk), and enforcing discipline.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and enforcing a comprehensive risk and compliance framework for all trading activities. This includes monitoring positions, validating hedge strategies, ensuring regulatory alignment, and managing reporting of financial risk metrics like value-at-risk, market-to-market, and credit exposure.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

• Risk Policy and Limit Framework: Develop and maintain a robust risk policy and limit framework (product, tenor, counterparty, credit); conduct pre-trade approvals.
• Daily Risk Reporting: Generate daily market-to-market, value-at-risk, stress/scenario reports; perform backtesting and profit-and-loss explanation; escalate breaches.
• Counterparty Credit Limits: Oversee counterparty credit limits, exposure monitoring, and collateral/margin arrangements.
• Treasury Coordination: Collaborate with Treasury on letters of credit, foreign exchange, and liquidity management; ensure clean audit trails and reporting to senior management.
• Model Validation: Lead model validation and new-product approvals; maintain data ownership and security documents and control attestations.
• Hedging Frameworks: Design hedging frameworks and ensure integration of physical/derivatives positions into the company's risk system.
• Risk Policies and Limits: Establish risk policies and limits across physical and derivatives trading-value-at-risk, stress testing, exposures.
• Trading Activity Monitoring: Monitor and report trading activity, profit-and-loss attribution, exceptions, limit breaches, compliance metrics.
• Collateral/Margin Management:
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure daily mark-to-market, collateral/margin management, and regulatory compliance.
• Portfolio Risk Analysis: Perform portfolio risk analysis (value-at-risk/explained profit-and-loss/historical simulation) across one-month holding periods.
• Daily/Weekly VaR Calculation: Calculate daily/weekly value-at-risk using both parametric and historical models.
• Risk Dashboards and Reports: Develop internal risk dashboards and reports for senior management.
• Trade Approvals and Escalations: Serve as gatekeeper for trade approvals, compliance checks, and risk escalations.
• Funding and Hedge Accounting: Liaise with finance and treasury for capital, funding, and hedge accounting.
• Risk Communication: Communicate risk and performance to senior management; help build scalable risk governance.
• Auditor and Regulator Coordination: Coordinate with auditors, finance, and external regulators as needed.
• Risk Training and Awareness: Contribute to training and awareness around risk across the team.
• Departmental Support: Extend relevant support to other departments such as cascading and/or adopting initiatives, programs, projects, and activities.
• Quality, Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety, and Information Security Management: Comply with the organization's Quality, Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety, and Information Security Management Systems policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines based on ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, and ISO 27001 Standards.
• Information Asset Protection: Protect information assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction, or interference in accordance with ISMS policies; maintain availability, confidentiality, and integrity of documents.
• Other Tasks and Responsibilities: Perform other tasks and responsibilities that may be assigned.
