Job Overview
We are seeking a professional with experience in infrastructure patching, system administration, and vulnerability management. The role includes coordinating OS patching (Linux/Unix/Wintel), ensuring compliance with security standards, and supporting infrastructure build, hardening, and maintenance. Strong knowledge of server operating systems, patching processes, Jira, and exposure to Kubernetes, Docker, middleware, and databases is required; networking and large data center experience is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate all Systems Engineering patching activities for customer server operating systems in accordance with agreed schedules with the customer(s).
Validate patches are tested on common operating platforms to identify potential issues.
Run monthly/quarterly compliance reports and identify required patches.
Participate in monthly patch review and schedule meetings to review vulnerabilities.
Coordinate patching windows in compliance with change management and business requirements.
Produce post-patching reports.
Coordinate rollback activity required due to patching issues.
Prioritize and schedule mutually agreed system patching and maintenance.
Coordinate in setting up Infrastructure and supporting Application Infra needs.
Coordinate to harden the Infra and clear it with standard processes.
Coordinate to maintain Infra with software/hardware patch/upgrade & EOS/EOL components.
Provide preventive/proactive support.
Incident/Change/Problem Management.
Able to support on weekends/shifts to drive patching as per published calendar.
Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Systems or related field.
5-7 years of related experience.
Experience with Infra patching and administration, build tasks (Linux/Unix).
Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, DevOps, and other container platforms.
Knowledge of Linux OS, Windows OS, MariaDB or other databases.
Knowledge of Networking (F5 GTM/LTM or other SLB).
Good to have knowledge of Postgres, MariaDB and Middleware (App/Web Server).
Knowledge of Jira.
Understanding of large Data Center Facilities operation.
Strong understanding of server operating systems and patching processes.
Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required.
Experience in managing 6-10 member offshore teams.
Highly self-motivated with keen attention to detail; ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Candidate must be willing to work at a Customer Location and support weekend activities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
