We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Software Tester to join our team. The Senior Software Tester will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our software. This individual will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing comprehensive test plans and test cases, identifying and documenting defects, and working closely with development team to resolve issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of software development life cycles (SDLC), various testing methodologies, and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, maintain and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on functional and non-functional requirements.
Identify, document, and track software defects, working closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution and retesting.
Perform various types of testing, including but not limited to functional, regression, integration, system, performance, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, developers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and ensure testability of features.
Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, from requirements gathering to deployment.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and methodologies.
Mentor and guide junior testers, sharing knowledge and best practices.
Assist in setting up and maintaining test environments and test data.
Analyse test results, identify trends, and provide comprehensive reports on quality metrics.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
5+ years of progressive experience in software quality assurance and testing.
Proven experience in designing and executing complex test cases and test plans.
Strong understanding of software testing methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
Proficiency in using test management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, ALM).
Experience with defect tracking systems.
Solid understanding of relational databases and ability to write SQL queries for data validation.
Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI) is a plus.
Experience with automation testing frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium) is a significant advantage.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):
Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
ISTQB certification or similar.
