About The Role:
As the Assistant Editor/Writer, you will play a key role in supporting the Editor in curating, creating, and executing editorial content for Tatler Homes Singapore’s print magazine, digital platforms, and social media channels. You will be a sounding board and brainstorming partner to the Editor, helping to develop feature stories that strengthen editorial themes while ensuring all content aligns with Tatler’s editorial standards and brand voice.
This role is writing-driven and ideal for someone passionate about interior design, architecture, luxury homes, and lifestyle trends. It requires strong writing and research skills, a keen eye for detail, and an interest in digital storytelling and social media. You will also have the opportunity to attend and report live from industry events, travel for editorial assignments, and help expand Tatler Homes Singapore’s presence in both print and digital.
Responsibilities:
Content Creation and Execution
●Write and develop compelling feature stories, interviews, trend pieces, and advertorial content for print and digital.
●Support the Editor in brainstorming and shaping editorial themes, contributing ideas that align with Tatler Homes’ luxury lifestyle focus.
●Conduct in-depth research and interviews to enrich editorial content with original insights.
●Proofread and fact-check articles to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to editorial guidelines.
●Repurpose print content for digital, ensuring a 360-degree execution of stories.
●Assist in coordinating with freelancers and ensuring content is delivered on time and
meets editorial standards.
Digital and Social Media
●Assist the Editor in developing short-form video content for social media and digital platforms, including Instagram post and reels.
●Support video interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, and visual storytelling content for Tatler Homes Singapore’s digital presence.
●Help with on-camera reporting and video hosting as needed, ensuring engaging visual content aligns with editorial themes.
●Publish up to 10 digital stories per week (original, syndicated, and repurposed content) for the Homes vertical on the Tatler Asia website.
●Write engaging social media captions and digital-friendly content, enhancing Tatler Homes Singapore’s digital and social media presence.
●Live report from design and industry events, capturing key moments for editorial coverage.
Research and Trendspotting
●Stay updated on trends in interior design, architecture, luxury furniture, and property sectors to identify fresh story ideas.
●Conduct research for interviews, features, and advertorial projects, ensuring all content is well-informed and relevant.
Events and Industry Engagement
●Assist the Editor in covering key design fairs, trade shows, and press events, locally and internationally.
●Support the Editor in organising and executing Tatler Homes Singapore Design Awards and other brand events, providing editorial input and assisting with logistics.
●Help with hosting or moderating panel discussions, interviews, or live coverage at industry events, ensuring seamless event engagement and editorial representation.
●Build relationships with designers, architects, brand leaders, and industry insiders to secure exclusive content opportunities.
Collaboration and Communication
●Work closely with the Editor, regional editorial team, and digital and social media teams to ensure content synergy.
●Liaise with category leaders, influencers, and industry professionals to enhance Tatler Homes Singapore’s editorial authority.
●Collaborate with commercial and branded content teams to ensure editorial obligations to advertisers are met.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field. A degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or other spatial design-related fields is welcome if you also have a passion for writing and storytelling
2-3 years of experience in writing, reporting, or content creation, preferably in lifestyle, design, or luxury media.
Strong writing and research skills, with the ability to craft engaging long-form features and digital-friendly content.
A design enthusiast with a sharp eye for spatial beauty, craftsmanship, and luxury interiors.
Passion for digital and social media storytelling and experience in creating engaging content.
Interest in pop culture, lifestyle trends, and their intersection with design.
Familiarity with digital publishing platforms, SEO best practices, and social media trends.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines.
Creative thinker with a strong editorial eye and a passion for storytelling.
Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with the Editor and team.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with industry professionals.
Adaptable and comfortable with live event coverage and on-the-ground reporting.
