Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical overhauling, reconditioning & repairs of 4-stroke and 2-stroke engine parts conveyed to shop.
• Identify parts that need to be replaced and place orders for parts or repair services as deemed necessary.
• Prepare inspection reports as per ISO work instructions, risk assessment and checklist for all works.
• Assist in preparing inspection/calibration reports and spare requisitions for the immediate superior.
• Interpret technical drawings and documents to determine appropriate repair parts and procedures, with focus on delivery dateline, quality and cost.
• Ensure timesheets for the team are accurate and submitted within specified timelines.
• Communicate regularly with the superior and other departments on service-related work to resolve conflicts and improve performance.
• Demonstrate self-discipline, punctuality to company working hours, and serve as a good role model for subordinates.
• Prioritize safety and follow the company’s environment, health and safety policy.
• Promote good housekeeping and maintain workshop, plant equipment, and tools in good order.
• Estimate labor, materials and other requirements for specific jobs and provide written estimates when required.
• Ensure testing and monitoring equipment/instruments are identified and maintained in good order.
• For fuel system components, liaise with Goltens vendors and customers for reports and site inspections to ensure reconditioning aligns with purchase order specifications from sales/enquiry to project completion.
• Any other tasks as assigned by the manager or management.

Required Qualifications And Skills

Technical / Professional:

• At least ITE certificate or O’ Level
• At least 5 years of experience with reconditioning and overhaul of 4-stroke engine components including fuel systems.
• Knowledge of high speed engines
• Preferably with sailing experience

Technological:

• Technical trade knowledge & Microsoft Office

General:

• Ability to work well under pressure
• Demonstrate professionalism, independence and efficiency

People/Relations:

• Good communication skills
• Good supervisory skills

Industrial Knowledge:

• Maritime industry
