Job Description Summary – Production Control Analyst (PCA)
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced PCA to create, modify, and manage production schedules. Responsibilities include monitoring inventory levels, providing regular production status updates to management, and ensuring the timely delivery of products to customers. The PCA should closely monitor the production process to ensure orders are completed on time and within budget. Knowledge of material requirements planning and the ability to manage production deadlines are essential. An exceptional PCA demonstrates excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills to ensure smooth production operations.
Job Responsibilities:
Build schedules based on time constraints and resource availability.
Create production plans considering available resources.
Manage dates on all production orders and communicate status promptly.
Articulate issues and resolution timelines at the component level.
Manage material parameters (lead time, lot size, MOQ, ABC classification) and understand their impact on inventory and service.
Understand demand planning, forecast flow, and variability impacts.
Apply bottleneck and line balancing concepts.
Address lumpy demand effects on supply chain and production.
Understand capacity planning, routings, and order scheduling.
Utilize Materials Management and Production Scheduling modules in the local MRP system.
Use SAP T-codes effectively.
Identify when to contact suppliers for expedite and subsequent steps.
Manage purchase order dates and understand escalation and shortage processes.
Manage blanket POs, including PAA/VMI/Consignment.
Use Excel (basic functions, VLOOKUP, pivot tables) and analyze data from Power BI.
Understand the broader impact of scheduling decisions and analyze root causes using problem-solving techniques like 5 Whys, MAAR, PDCA, A3.
Synthesize data to identify root causes of issues.
Understand material flow within their area and the importance of coordination and handshakes.
Understand how schedules are executed on the shop floor and the impact of scheduling on customer delivery.
Coordinate priorities, resolve issues, and ensure flawless execution of the production plan.
Recognize how quality problems impact scheduling.
Experience and Education:
Minimum education: Degree related to supply chain or manufacturing.
Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability.
Ideally, 2 years of experience.
Willingness to learn and take on challenges; entry-level candidates are welcome.
