The NUS Office of Alumni Relations (OAR) fosters a lifelong relationship between the National University of Singapore (NUS) and its alumni. It provides a platform for alumni to stay connected with the University and each other through various programmes, events, and networking opportunities. OAR supports alumni in their personal and professional development, encouraging their involvement in university initiatives and community service. By promoting a vibrant and engaged alumni network in Singapore and globally, OAR aims to strengthen the NUS community, enhance its reputation, and contribute to the university's mission of excellence in education, research, and service to society.
Job Description
You will play a pivotal role in planning, organizing, and executing a diverse range of University-level events that engage our NUS alumni community. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, exceptional organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Plan, coordinate, and execute a variety of alumni events and activities, including, forums, golf tournaments, Homecoming, and reunions.
Collaborate and work cross-functionally with key NUS departments to ensure that events align with broader University goals and deliver measurable outcomes.
Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficient use of resources.
Source, negotiate with and manage vendors for event-related services and oversee all logistical aspects of assigned events.
Evaluate events through feedback and data analysis to drive continuous improvement.
Prepare and present regular reports to management, offering insights and recommendations for further improvement.
Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Marketing, or a related field.
At least 5 – 7 years' proven experience in events planning and management.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Strong project management and vendor management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet moving deadlines.
Proactive, has high levels of resilience and drive, and is adaptable to changes.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills and can analyse and synthesise information.
Willingness to work evenings, weekends or travel internationally as required.
