The Oil Market Analyst – Americas role at TotalEnergies focuses on analyzing oil product markets across North, Central, and South America to support strategic decision-making and trading activities. This role involves frequent interaction with trading desks and the research group, requiring strong communication and relationship management skills. You'll operate with a high degree of autonomy while maintaining regular collaboration with other members of the research team. Success in this position requires strong reactivity and proactive problem-solving in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment, responding quickly to informational demands from trading desks. The Analyst will develop and manage supply/demand models for main refined products, focused on the Americas region. Ongoing improvement of these models with new analytical tools is a key part of this role, with the Analyst working in conjunction with the Oil Market Analysis Manager to improve the quality of the models. In addition, the Analyst will be expected to develop a global view of markets in coordination with the wider Market Analysis team based in Geneva and Singapore. This role encompasses undertaking product markets research to develop market balances and a tradable view. This involves working closely with the product traders to understand the fundamentals of the Americas markets and to assist with trade idea generation and vetting. High level responsibilities include: Building and analyzing Supply & Demand models including detailed balances for various sub-regions Identifying regional price dynamics and key drivers for the broader product markets for the Americas Interacting with trade desks in Geneva, Singapore and Dubai to develop global market views Collaborating with other members of the Houston Market Analysis team to create a unified view Developing market analysis trading tools and dashboards for the local trading desks Preparing reports and presentations on forward market/competitive trends Managing underlying databases used for forecasting. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering, hard sciences, or economics 2+ years of relevant experience in market analysis or 4+ years of broader industry experience What We Offer: At TotalEnergies we know that you're more than what's on your CV.
