Senior Base Metals Proprietary Trader / PM A rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Base Metals Proprietary Trader to join a global Hedgefund firm in Singapore. This is a pure proprietary risk-taking role, focused on capitalizing on market inefficiencies in global base metals markets (e.g., copper, aluminum, zinc, nickel). The position is ideal for a commercially driven, fundamentally grounded trader with a consistent track record of strong risk-adjusted returns. Ideally focusing on APAC markets. You will have full autonomy to deploy trading strategies across physical and paper markets, with access to a sophisticated infrastructure and risk framework that supports high-conviction trading. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute discretionary proprietary trading strategies across global base metals markets. Take full ownership of P&L and risk across physical and derivative positions (LME, CME, SHFE, OTC). Analyze market fundamentals including supply/demand, inventories, production economics, and macro factors. Leverage quantitative tools and technical indicators to support idea generation and position management. Maintain strong relationships with producers, smelters, brokers, and market participants across the value chain. Operate within defined risk parameters and contribute to a high-performance, compliance-oriented trading culture. What We're Looking For Demonstrated success in proprietary trading within the base metals complex, with a clear record of profitability. Deep understanding of global metals markets, trade flows, and price drivers (physical premiums, warehouse stocks, etc.). Experience trading across LME, CME, SHFE, and other key exchanges. Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to integrate macro, micro, and technical views. Entrepreneurial mindset with the discipline to manage large risk exposures responsibly. Solid network across the metals trading ecosystem (producers, consumers, brokers, logistics). Experience with fundamental modelling, price forecasting, and inventory analysis is a strong plus.
