(What you will be working on)

Would you like to apply data science or GIS skills in solving the next generation of traffic and road operational challenges in Singapore?

As a Data Engineer in the Integrated Operations & Technology (IO&T) team, you will help shape Singapore’s vehicular transport environment now and for future generations. This role combines geospatial, data engineering, and ops-tech integration skills to enhance the reliability, performance, and sustainability of our road network. You will be part of a core team of GIS professionals, data engineers, and data analysts building the next generation of user applications and data models.

You will work closely with various teams within LTA and across Government Agencies. Within LTA, you will collaborate with teams across domains such as systems development, data analytics, data engineering, GIS systems, software development, and product management. Your tasks include understanding business requirements, data collection, governance, creating processed data and data models, and designing user-centric applications.

You will also collaborate with industry partners and academia to explore technologies that can transform our work. Keeping abreast of advancements in smart technologies, big data, GIS, and other intelligent tools is essential to enhance traffic operations and road asset management.

This position is based in Singapore.

(What we are looking for)

We seek someone with strong skills in data science, interested in data engineering, data governance, management, and GIS. Prior experience in the transport domain is not required.

  • Knowledge in Computer Science, Geography, or Engineering with an analytics or GIS specialization.
  • At least 2 years of experience in data engineering, analytics, GIS, or related fields. Experienced candidates may qualify for senior positions.
  • Familiarity with relational databases and SQL coding, or experience with ArcGIS geodatabases and functions.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Experience in traffic engineering, transport analytics, or data modeling techniques.
  • Experience processing big data or running geoprocessing scripts.
