Our Global Supply Chain team plays a central part in ensuring our products are delivered to patients with cardiovascular disease. You’ll partner cross-functionally with manufacturing operations and sales teams, delivering thoughtful solutions to complex challenges while developing your knowledge of the medical device industry. Whether your work includes strategic inventory planning, labeling, warehouse management, material handling, or other supply chain opportunities, you will be making a meaningful contribution to our team and to patients around the world.
This role is responsible for developing short- and long-term strategic planning of distribution networks in the assigned region, ensuring delivery of organizational goals and growth plans. It will lead the distribution centers' strategy across the region, drive continuous improvement, and implement innovative methods to optimize distribution channels while maintaining high levels of compliance, operational excellence and high quality service to clients.
How you’ll make an impact:
- Develop, plan and lead regional logistics and distribution strategy in alignment with growth plans, delivering on cost, quality and service objectives across transportation, carrier network, supply channels, and distribution centers.
- Research and identify best practices and trends, prioritize and select projects, identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, define best practices, drive standardization and controls, and resolve issues in collaboration with cross-functional and/or corporate teams.
- Direct team members and/or matrix teams in the execution of distribution network design and plans, including identifying strategic providers, implementing sound supplier relationships and management processes, and ensuring providers deliver on commitments in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., Corporate Logistics) for regional/global contracts.
- Develop a robust distribution management capability in the region, including mentoring and developing others as part of GSC talent development, succession planning and growth strategies.
- Establish and maintain standards for on-time delivery between customers, carriers and distribution centers.
- Establish strong partnerships and act as liaison between stakeholders (e.g., Commercial teams, GPS&L and Supplier Quality organizations, and distribution centers’ partners) while ensuring new product readiness indicators are in place and effective.
- Drive performance improvements in key indicators for distribution and end-to-end supply chain operations, while meeting cost targets and establishing effective measures and standards.
- Develop and lead the implementation of strategies to ensure business continuity. Identify, escalate, and develop plans to mitigate/eliminate risks, and communicate strategies with internal parties.
- Drive a value stream mindset and a culture of continuous improvement based on lean and Six Sigma principles.
- Serve as a core partner to senior leaders in Business Units, Functional Groups, Regions and IT.
- Other projects identified to support Emerging market Growth.
What you’ll need (Required):
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or relevant field with extensive experience in logistics
- Experience with progressive responsibilities in Supply Chain network or manufacturing
- Strong ability to establish strategic partnerships with Logistics Service Providers to drive delivery excellence and fulfillment
- Proven expertise in warehouse and distribution technologies (e.g., RFID, WMS, Bar Coding)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related systems including JDE, Advanced Planning Systems, working with Demand Flow methodology

- Expert understanding of global supply chain logistics and distribution methods, modes, third party dependencies and principles while looking beyond existing methodologies to resolve complex problems
- Expert understanding of related aspects of logistics processes and/or systems
- Expert knowledge of financial mechanisms related to logistics
- Expert understanding of planning concepts and requirements (e.g., CRP, MRP, Production Scheduling and Sequencing)
- Demonstrated ability to direct teams and provide coaching and feedback, including responsibility for all employee actions including hire/fire authority in partnership with HR
- Ability to develop and integrate metrics into projects and operations that demonstrate the value of planning, purchasing, and logistics to the business
- Strict attention to detail
- Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels and proactively escalate issues
- Ability to work and excel in a fast-paced, dynamic, and changing environment
- Provide leadership to large cross-functional teams to implement global enterprise systems and related solutions
- Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures to protect people and the environment
