about the role
This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and experienced Financial Controller to join a pivotal team within the Accounting & Finance department. As a key player, you will be instrumental in driving financial success across the APAC region, with a primary focus on Singapore. You will have a dual purpose: ensuring strict compliance with all accounting and reporting standards while providing insightful financial analysis to guide management decisions.
You will lead the regional accounting hub and build strong, collaborative relationships with country leadership. As a manager, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring the Assistant Finance Manager and the broader team, ensuring they are engaged and performing at their best.
Your role will be hands-on, covering a wide range of responsibilities. You'll oversee the entire controllership function, from managing the local statutory audit and annual accounts process to maintaining robust financial controls and driving an effective month-end close. You'll also serve as a key advisor on treasury matters, managing banking relationships and overseeing cash flow. Beyond compliance, you'll play a crucial role in strategic planning and analysis, building a strong team to deliver effective management reports, consolidating the budget, and providing the critical financial insights leadership needs to make informed decisions.
key skills and experience
To thrive in this role, you should possess a solid foundation in accounting, including a professional accounting qualification (such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) and a degree in a related field. You must have significant experience in a finance leadership role and a deep, demonstrable understanding of Singapore's regulatory requirements and SGP GAAP. Strong analytical skills and technical accounting knowledge are essential. While prior experience in a professional services company is a plus, it is not a requirement. We are looking for a first-rate organizer with the ability to lead a team and interface effectively with colleagues across the globe. You should be highly computer literate, comfortable with complex accounting systems, and a quick learner. While local language skills are a plus, they are not essential for this role.
