You will be involved in developing, evaluating and performing routine and specialized molecular tests, staff training and supervision, quality improvement and laboratory management duties. Requirements PhD in Microbiology, Molecular Biology or equivalent MSc in Microbiology, Molecular Biology or equivalent BSc (Hons) in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Life Sciences or equivalent with at least 3 years work experience using molecular techniques or at least 6 years experience indiagnostic laboratory. Candidate should have experience in developing molecular tests, e.g. polymerase chain reaction. Experience using and developing microbial tests using next generation sequencing is an advantage Medical Laboratory Technologist This is an exciting opportunity to join a young and dynamic laboratory involved in the detection of infections using molecular diagnostics, a rapidly growing field. You will be performing routine diagnostic molecular tests using PCR, line probe assays and sequencing as well as quality control activities.
