Roles & Responsibilities We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Fire Protection Drafter to join our engineering team. As a Fire Protection Drafter, you will be responsible for creating detailed fire protection system design drawings, plans, and schematics. You will work closely with engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure fire safety designs comply with local regulations, codes, and industry standards. The ideal candidate should have strong technical drawing skills and experience working with fire protection systems such as sprinklers, alarms, and fire suppression systems. Key Responsibilities: Prepare Drawings and Plans: Create and modify fire protection system drawings for commercial, residential, and industrial projects using CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.). System Layouts: Develop layouts for fire protection systems, including sprinkler systems, fire alarms, suppression systems, standpipes, and emergency egress systems. Code Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with relevant fire safety codes and standards (NFPA, local building codes, etc.). Collaborate with Engineers: Work closely with fire protection engineers to interpret design specifications and make adjustments based on feedback. Project Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all design revisions, project schedules, and communication with stakeholders. Prepare Submittals: Assist in preparing design submittals for clients and regulatory authorities for approval. System Integration: Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) teams to ensure proper integration of fire protection systems with other building systems. Field Support: Occasionally assist with on-site measurements, site evaluations, and coordination with contractors to ensure proper installation of fire protection systems. Quality Assurance: Review designs and drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance before submission or construction. Qualifications: Education: Diploma in Drafting, Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Experience & Skills: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in drafting fire protection systems or related engineering fields. Familiarity with fire protection codes, standards, and regulations. Proficient in CAD software. Strong knowledge of fire protection systems, including sprinkler systems, fire alarms, suppression systems, and emergency systems. Understanding of construction plans and specifications. Strong attention to detail and precision. Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, architects, and contractors. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
