We are looking for an experienced PostgreSQL/Sybase Database Administrator (L2)to join a large-scale technology hub supporting global banking operations across Asia and Europe. This role is part of a regional database team responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and reliability of mission‐critical systems. You will work closely with technical teams, architects, and project managers to support both day‐to‐day operations and large transformation initiatives. The position follows European (Paris) time zones , with rotational schedules depending on operational needs. Responsibilities Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain PostgreSQL clustersDesign secure and scalable architectures, including HA/DR (streaming replication, logical replication, Patroni, pgpool‐II)Monitor and optimize database performance using tools such as pg_stat_statements, Prometheus, Grafana, pgBadger Perform advanced performance tuning, index optimization, and SQL analysis Sybase Administration Manage Sybase ASE/IQ installations, configurations, upgrades, and patching Handle query tuning, locking review, index strategies, and performance troubleshooting Support replication, DR planning, space/log management, and job scheduling L2 Support & Operational Excellence Act as the highest escalation point within the DBA team Own Incident, Problem, and Change management processes Lead fault investigation, resolve monitoring alerts, and handle production issues Ensure documentation consistency, enforce standards, and drive automation initiatives Participate in global infrastructure events (e.g., DR drills, power‐down tests)Maintain strong understanding of ITIL practices and compliance requirements Qualifications 6–8 years of hands‐on experience as a Database Administrator, preferably with PostgreSQL and/or Sybase Strong understanding of database administration, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and high availability concepts Experience supporting production environments in a fast‐paced, enterprise‐scale setup Solid scripting skills (Shell, Python, or SQL) for automation Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change management)Good knowledge of database security, access control, and compliance practices Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with global teams Effective communication skills and ability to prioritize tasks in complex environments Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent technical discipline Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at TG Singapore by 2x Get notified about new Database Administrator jobs in Singapore, Singapore . #J-18808-Ljbffr
