Marine Software Business Analyst

Overview Marine Software Business Analyst role at RINA to join its office in Singapore within the Marine Digital Solutions Division. Responsibilities Bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions, collecting and documenting customer requirements and collaborating with software developers throughout the development lifecycle. Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for new software development projects through interviews, workshops, and surveys. Create detailed documentation, including business requirements, functional specifications, and use cases; ensure requirements are clear, complete, and aligned with business goals. Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and the development team to ensure a shared understanding of project requirements. Analyze and prioritize requirements, resolve conflicts, and manage scope based on business value. Contribute to project planning, defining scope, timelines, and resource needs; assist in developing plans and schedules. Define and manage project scope, document changes, and monitor impact to prevent scope creep. Coordinate testing with QA teams; develop test plans and test cases based on requirements and participate in testing to verify software aligns with specifications. Support the implementation phase, provide guidance to the development team, and ensure timelines and milestones are met. Engage with customers to gather feedback, provide project updates, and address concerns during development. Manage changes through formal change control and communicate adjustments to stakeholders. Identify risks and issues, collaborate on contingency plans, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives; stay informed about industry trends and software development methodologies. Develop user documentation and training materials; provide training sessions to end-users and support teams as needed. Education Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or Economics Qualifications Awareness of project management principles and methodologies; experience working in project teams. Proficiency in business analysis techniques: requirements gathering, documentation, and analysis. Experience translating business needs into detailed functional and technical specifications. Understanding of software development processes and methodologies; familiarity with technologies, programming languages, and software architectures. Familiarity with tools used in business analysis, such as requirements management tools, collaboration tools, and diagramming software.
