Overview Consultant AnatomicalPathologist A Consultant Surgical (Anatomic) Pathologist position is now available at one of the long standing excellent tertiary hospitals in Singapore. This is a great opportunity to join one of the major healthcare groups in Singapore who provide tertiary healthcare to a resident population of 1.5 million living in the central and northern regions of Singapore. The position is based in the Anatomic Pathology Section of the Department of Laboratory Medicine (DLM). The anatomical pathology laboratory is accredited with the College of American Pathologists (CAP). This includes regular interaction with surgical and oncology services from the hospital and other institutions, with attendance at multidisciplinary tumour boards and tissue audit committee meetings. Apart from the clinical duties stated above, administrative and educational duties would include serving on hospital and external (up to National-level) committees in roles related to the specialty, and the teaching of different levels of staff, including medical undergraduates, resident physicians, surgical pathology trainee doctors (through the residency programme), and laboratory technical staff. Research opportunities are also available with opportunities to collaborate with colleagues from the hospital and other of the groups' institutions. Candidates should be qualified and experienced with a medical degree suitable for registration with the Singapore Medical Council, as well as a specialist postgraduate qualification such as FRCPA, FRCPath with CCT from the UK, American Board Certification in Anatomic Pathology from the U.S, or Australasian Fellowship for accreditation as a Specialist Pathologist with the Singapore Specialists Accreditation Board.
