Nanyang Technological University, Singapore is hiring a tenured Professor of Physics in the field of Quantum Science and Technology. This is a full-time faculty position based in the Division of Physics and Applied Physics at the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences.
The successful candidate will assume a leadership role in the Division of Physics and Applied Physics, with the aim of making NTU a global leader in Quantum Science and Technology. Key responsibilities include conducting high-quality research, participating in scientific activities to raise NTU's profile, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses, performing academic supervision, and undertaking administrative and/or leadership roles.
We are seeking an established scientist with a track record of scientific excellence in Quantum Science and Technology. Both theorists and experimentalists are welcome to apply. The ideal candidate will have a strong record of research, including peer-reviewed publications, and good experience in securing competitive research grants, supervising and mentoring research staff and students, and teaching at various levels.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct internationally-recognised research that contributes to progress in Quantum Science and Technology.
  • Participate in scientific activities to raise NTU's profile.
  • Teach and develop courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • Perform academic supervision of undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Undertake administrative and/or leadership roles and other service-related responsibilities assigned by the School and/or University.
Requirements:
  • PhD in Physics or a related discipline.
  • Strong record of research and publication in reputable international journals.
  • Good track record of securing competitive research grants.
  • Good track record of supervising and mentoring research staff and students.
