Digital Forensics Engineer, DIF CoE HTX (Home Team Science & Technology Agency)is Singapore's foremost Science and Technology agency dedicated to delivering transformative solutions for homeland security. As a statutory board of the Ministry of Home Affairs and integral to the Home Team, HTX supports Singapore's front‐line security by integrating scientific and engineering capabilities. Overview The Digital & Information Forensics Centre of Expertise uses a multi‐disciplinary approach—on‐scene, laboratory, and digital forensics—to maximise evidence recovery and analysis. This role leads the development of tools, platforms, and techniques that enable fast, actionable intelligence for investigators, and supports the efficiency of digital forensics across HTX. Responsibilities Conduct research on open‐source investigations, cloud sources, and services to aid forensic examinations and criminal investigations. Develop platforms, tools, algorithms, and techniques for collecting, analysing and interpreting digital evidence from diverse sources. Collaborate with Forensic Examiners and Investigators to integrate new tools and techniques into their workflows and ensure they meet operational needs. Evaluate, prototype, test and enhance forensic tools and processes. Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in digital forensics, cloud platforms, and related fields; apply this knowledge to the development of new tools and techniques. Oversee and liaise with vendors to execute and evaluate proof‐of‐concept projects. Qualifications Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline. Proficiency in cloud technologies and architecture (AWS / Azure / GCP). Knowledge of open‐source investigation techniques. Programming experience with scripting languages such as Python. Experience in network and log file forensics, correlating digital artefacts to reconstruct user and system activities. Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices. Project management experience from concept to deployment using agile methodology. Basic knowledge of UI/UX principles and best practices. Contract and Recruitment All new appointees will be appointed on a two‐year contract in the first instance.
