Senior Analyst and Team Lead – ASEAN Private Markets Smartkarma connects investment research analysts to institutional asset managers, such as sovereign wealth funds, hedge funds, private equity, boutiques and family offices. Smartkarma’s cloud-based platform leverages the latest in technology to provide a network for independent research analysts to curate and monetize research in an innovative and new way. Over 1,500 insights published each month are made available on Smartkarma’s cloud-based research platform, contributed by 300+ research firms, globally. Over 250 leading institutional asset managers have subscribed, including sovereign wealth funds, global asset managers, hedge funds, boutiques and family offices. Our investors include Sequoia Capital, Singapore Exchange (SGX), Wavemaker Partners, Jungle Ventures and Spring Seed. Job Description Smartkarma is looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Analyst – ASEAN Private Markets to build ongoing research coverage across important venture capital- and private equity-backed businesses and industries in ASEAN. Key Responsibilities: Own overall responsibility for publishing high-impact research on venture capital- and private equity-backed businesses and industries in ASEAN for institutional investors. Develop and implement research frameworks to provide independent commentary on ASEAN business and industry trends and opportunities. Oversee research pipelines, including management of networks of analysts and vendors. Build and maintain relationships with industry professionals, clients, and media to support primary research and thought leadership. Deep understanding of ASEAN private markets, key businesses and industries, including bridging the gap between private companies and public-market investors. Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality research and investment insights. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience communicating with senior stakeholders and clients. Forward-looking tech and entrepreneurial mindset; comfort leveraging AI tools and alternative datasets to scale the unit while incorporating an owner mindset.
