What the role is The Licensing, Research and Charities branch looks into the operationalisation of the Healthcare Services Act, the Human Biomedical Research Act and related regulations for healthcare service licensees and research institutions. You will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders at the same time. What you will be working on Screen, process and approve healthcare service licence applications to ensure compliance with the Healthcare Services Act, Regulations and Guidelines to safeguard patient safety and welfare. Screen, process and approve new and renewal applications for Charities and Institution of a Public Character (IPC) status and ensure compliance with the Charities Act. Audit, process and review Research Institutions and Tissue Banks for compliance with the Human Biomedical Research and Human Tissue Regulation frameworks. Conduct reviews of existing guidelines, guidance, circulars and codes of practice under the Healthcare Services Act and Human Biomedical Research Act to ensure that standards and instructions promulgated in these documents remain relevant and up-to-date. Establish standards, requirements and licensing terms and conditions for the licensing of facilities/services under new Licensable Healthcare Services. Oversee the application and operational considerations of new regulatory areas such as Data Governance, Security, etc., to ensure that implemented measures consider the impact on patient safety. This includes the use of accurate licensing data/reports to make informed choices across HReg and to implement change management as processes evolve with the enhancement of regulatory requirements. Manage and oversee the development of appropriate systems and procedures to support licensing processes required under the Healthcare Services Act (HCSA), ensuring patients receive safe and high-quality healthcare.
