At Excelitas Technologies you are how we EXCEL. Our facility in Singapore has key functions in research and development, procurement, sales and finance for our Lighting and Detection business lines, in addition to key functions related to our Optics Manufacturing capabilities. This site produces optical lenses such as spherical, aspherical and plano optics, with large machine‑shop capabilities and expertise in optical coating and assembly. Our photonic products and solutions serve a wide range of markets and applications in medicine, life science, industrial manufacturing, defense and aerospace, as well as research and development. We are presently seeking a Senior Product Engineer that will drive improvement through yield enhancement, scrap reduction and on‑time delivery. Main Responsibilities Serve as the product owner for managing Requests for Quotation (RFQs) with Sales & Marketing (S&M) and Operations to meet customer requirements. Ensure timely closure of RFQs with proper tracking through Turnaround Time (TAT) reporting. Drive the execution of First Article Test (FAT), First Lot Production (FLP), and First Article Inspection (FAI) to meet all customer requirements. Manage product ownership of Bill of Materials (BOM) and routing setup, ensuring accuracy and adherence to TAT. Lead product performance improvements through yield enhancement, scrap reduction, On‑Time Delivery (OTD), and Parts Per Million (PPM) reduction. Manage product concessions and ensure compliance with customer requirements in collaboration with S&M. Oversee packaging, raw materials, tooling, and fixture management for assigned products. Act as the key interface with customers on product‑related matters. Participate in weekly reviews of FAT, yield, scrap, and OTD status with stakeholders to ensure targets are achieved. Requirements Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Optics, Mechanical Engineering, Precision Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of hands‑on experience in optics, opto‑mechanical, or opto‑electronic systems. Strong knowledge of optical components and their functionality. Proficient in AutoCAD or SolidWorks. Skilled in designing jigs and fixtures. Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean principles. Hands‑on experience with optical testing and metrology systems. Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
