Roles & Responsibilities Job Title: Material Planner Department: Production / Supply Chain / Logistics Reports To: Production Supervisor / Supply Chain Manager Job Summary: The Material Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling the flow of materials within the manufacturing plant. This role ensures that raw materials, components, and finished goods are available to meet production schedules while maintaining optimal inventory levels and minimizing production downtime. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate and manage the movement of materials from suppliers to production areas and finished goods to storage or shipment. Monitor and maintain inventory accuracy through regular stock checks and system updates. Issue materials to production lines according to job orders and schedules. Work closely with the purchasing and production teams to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and components. Prepare and update material requisitions, delivery schedules, and inventory records. Track material usage and highlight potential shortages or excesses to management. Liaise with suppliers and logistics providers to follow up on deliveries and resolve material discrepancies. Ensure proper labeling, storage, and handling of materials in accordance with safety and quality standards. Support continuous improvement initiatives in material handling and inventory control processes. Maintain accurate records for audits and production reporting. Requirements: NITEC / Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, or related field. Minimum 2 years of experience in material coordination, production planning, or inventory control. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or equivalent). Strong organizational and communication skills. Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Work Conditions: Based at the manufacturing plant or warehouse environment. May require overtime or shift work depending on production needs.
