Job Overview Position: Biodiversity Consultant (Marine Ecology)Location: Hybrid (Singapore) – onsite, travel, and remote work options. Role: Design, deliver, and manage marine ecology surveys, biodiversity assessments, and mitigation strategies for large infrastructure and coastal development projects. Responsibilities Plan and execute marine ecological baseline surveys (intertidal, subtidal) using belt/quadrat transects, photo/video transects, UVC, BRUVS, settlement tiles, eDNA, and benthic cover methods. Prepare environmental impact assessment (EIA) chapters (biodiversity baseline, impact assessment, significance evaluation) and ecological management and mitigation plans (EMMPs) for coastal and marine projects. Develop mitigation and offsetting measures following the mitigation hierarchy and contribute to nature‐based solution concepting and feasibility. Proficiency in ArcGIS or QGIS; solid Excel; working knowledge of R (or Python) for ecological data analysis. Plan scopes, budgets, schedules; manage field teams and sub‐consultants; coordinate with engineering, planning, contractors, and regulators; support stakeholder engagement and permitting. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in marine biology, ecology, environmental science, or related field. 3–7 years of marine ecology and biodiversity experience for infrastructure/coastal projects. Scientific diving experience strongly preferred (Rescue Diver or higher; scientific diver training/logbook). First Aid/O2 provider advantageous. Comfort working on boats and intertidal sites; strong safety culture and methodical risk management.
