The IKEA vision is to create a better everyday life for the many people. We operate in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand – and have an ambitious expansion plan to bring a little bit of Sweden to new markets in the region. We are part of the Ikano Group of companies and the only IKEA franchisee owned by the Kamprad family that founded IKEA. We also develop, own and operate Shopping Centres that are anchored by IKEA and create walkable communities by including residential, office and other types of real estate in our development plans. We are active in our communities, driving and supporting social initiatives that benefit children, women and the environment. Job Description About the job You understand how to use the different IKEA sales and communication channels and know-how for the different customers you meet. You continuously keep yourself updated on the home furnishing products and in-store services and promotions to help customers make informed choices. Approach and listen to the customers at all times in order to provide in-depth product knowledge. Understand the needs of the customer’s Life at Home and share this knowledge with the customer and co-workers. Ensure a high level of customers’ satisfaction by assessing customers’ needs, providing information and assistance when required. Ensure the respective home furnishing business area is clean, tidy, displays are set, priced and fully stocked to provide an easy shopping experience for the customers. Actively steer top selling and prioritized products to maximize sales. Act and respond quickly to commercial opportunities; manage product availability (overstock and out of stock) and customer feedback. Analyze activity performance: identify successful activities, solutions and ideas, and use this information to improve future planning. Keep the store tidy and ensure all loose hand articles are collected and returned to the respective home furnishing area. Qualifications Your profile You have an interest in home furnishing and people’s everyday life at home. Experience of working in a fast-paced environment, customer-focused and service industry. Strong understanding of what excellent customer service looks like and good problem-solving skills. Ability to handle customer enquiries. Good attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and organise work to make the most efficient use of time available. You are physically fit, enjoy handling physical work and retail hours. You are able to commit to working on shift work, weekends and public holidays. Good sales experience and able to actively sell through understanding of customer needs. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office. Crucial to have good computer knowledge. Able to commit 3 months for the role. Training will be provided.
