Senior Associate/Manager

You should have relevant experience in Direct tax for the positions of Sr. Associate and Manager in Mumbai and Bangalore. For the Senior Associate role, you should be a Chartered Accountant (CA) with 2-4 years of post-qualification experience in Direct tax. In case you are not a CA, you would need 5-7 years of relevant experience in Direct tax as a postgraduate. The experience required includes expertise in Indian Direct Taxation, PF, advisory Individual taxation, Expat taxation, HNI, and Global Mobility. For the Manager position, you should be a Chartered Accountant (CA) with 6-10 years of post-qualification experience in Direct tax. If you are not a CA, then 10-15 years of relevant experience in Direct tax is necessary, along with being a postgraduate. Similar to the Senior Associate role, experience in Indian Direct Taxation, PF, advisory, Individual taxation, Expat taxation, HNI, and Global Mobility is required for the Manager position. Candidates currently working as a senior associate at Y3 level can be considered for the Manager role. Team handling experience/Managerial experience would be an added advantage. Three years of articleship experience should not be considered as relevant work experience. Candidates holding Specialist/Analyst roles in other Big 4 firms would not be suitable for Senior associate roles. Candidates with experience completely in Indirect tax or only in Corporate tax would not be suitable for these positions. A mix of Direct tax and Indirect tax or a mix of Individual tax and Corporate tax can be considered. Good communication skills are required for these roles. The work schedule includes 5 days working and day shifts. Key points to check with the candidates under Direct tax include provisions on different heads of income applicable for personal tax filings, residential status under the Income Tax Act, 1961, assessment and appeals processes, tax rates, budget-related amendments, ITR-2 and reporting of asset requirements, overview of the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement (DTAA), Provident Fund (PF) applicability, and ESOP taxability.,
