Job Description: Responsibilities Responsible for mortality risk appraisal for the High-Net-Worth Business in the Singapore market. Collaborates with the Chief Underwriter, Singapore Branch and Corporate Underwriting Team on cases requiring higher-level authority. Drives, in cooperation with the Chief Underwriter, Singapore Branch, development of underwriting strategies consistent with overall enterprise direction and goals. Proactively collaborates with the New Business, Inforce, Distribution, and other functional teams in Singapore to deliver robust underwriting decisions and processes aligned with Sun Life’s philosophy and a positive Client experience. Manages, builds, and nourishes a proactive, positive, and productive relationship with the Distribution team to ensure all client relationships (advisors, brokers, private banks, etc.) are fostered and the team meets our clients’ high expectations. Maintains up to date knowledge of medical research, global underwriting trends, competitive intelligence, claims management, industry developments, an in-depth technical knowledge for medical and financial underwriting practices, clinical testing, and current medical procedures, to provide best in class risk selection for our Clients. Sustains a Culture of Compliance supporting a thorough and robust Client Due Diligence process including clear case documentation. Takes on projects related to streamlining and enhancement of current underwriting processes, updating of UW guidelines, system enhancements, preparation of reports and other underwriting support functions. Conducts and assists with research on industry benchmarks, process improvements, and implements actions and initiatives to achieve the highest level of Client service standards.
