Elliott Moss Consulting –"Building your team, building your success: Our solutions for your business"Job Summary The Wintel Engineer is responsible for maintaining and supporting the organization's Windows-based server infrastructure to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance. This role involves administering Windows servers, implementing patches and upgrades, monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and contributing to infrastructure enhancement initiatives. The engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align IT systems with business objectives and meet service level expectations. Key Responsibilities Administer and maintain Windows Server infrastructure across development, test, and production environments. Perform installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Windows servers and related services. Manage Active Directory , DNS , DHCP , Group Policy , and file/print services. Implement regular patching, backups, and system recovery procedures in accordance with security and compliance standards. Monitor and analyze server performance, ensuring optimal uptime and resource utilization. Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve incidents, service requests, and escalations efficiently. Maintain up-to-date system documentation, configuration records, and asset inventories. Participate in capacity planning, performance tuning, and infrastructure upgrade initiatives. Responsibilities Support project deployments by provisioning, configuring, and validating Windows servers according to project requirements. Assist in migration or upgrade activities for legacy systems to modern Windows Server platforms. Provide technical input during infrastructure design, implementation, and testing phases. Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Information Technology , or equivalent professional experience. Minimum 3–5 years of hands‐on experience in Windows Server administration . Strong knowledge of Active Directory , DNS , DHCP , and Group Policy management. Practical experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Microsoft Hyper‐V . Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and administrative tasks. Preferred Attributes Experience with Microsoft System Center tools (SCCM, SCOM). Familiarity with cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure or AWS . Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‐solving skills. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in cross‐functional teams. Professional and Technical Certifications (Preferred)Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate VMware Certified Professional (VCP)ITIL Foundation Certification Additional Information Availability for after‐hours support and on‐call rotation as required. Working knowledge of ITIL processes for incident, change, and problem management.
