Job Responsibilities
Working as part of Firewall Team, the firewall engineer will be required to perform project implementation support and handle the escalated firewall operations issue.
Administration and management (technical operations) of firewall infrastructure, including Checkpoint, Palo alto, Fortinet, Huawei.
Evaluate and upgrade firewall hardware and/or firmware.
Coordinate with vendor, deploy, configure and manage Firewall devices according to system engineering design.
Coordinate with information security governance team to align IT infrastructure with established standards.
Ensure compliance with all established information security policies.
Perform periodic health check and tuning of firewall devices.
Perform technical assessment of any non-well defined or complex firewall change requests prior to implementation.
Create firewall reporting by using Algosec on a regular basis to clean up the unused objects.
Perform regular review, edit, and create firewall Rulebase and recommend necessary optimization actions.
Assist Level 2 Support Engineers during problem determination and resolution whenever necessary.
Plan and recommend overall improvements in firewall management.
Device Access management.
Advanced troubleshooting production problems with RCA and fault diagnosis.
Performance and historical trend analysis.
Implement changes to firewall infrastructure hardware to correct errors or enhance functionality.
Develop processes for improving operational efficiencies, as well as identify/implement automation tools for existing manual processes.
Prepare technical reports, memoranda, and instructional manuals as documentation of network design and operational requirements.
Ready to work in shifts including public holidays.
Job Requirements
Minimum 5 years firewall operations and/or management role.
Bachelor's degree in engineering or science.
Certification: CCSA, CCSE, PCNSE (Preferred but not mandatory).
Good understanding of Checkpoint Firewalls and Palo Alto firewalls technologies.
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills.
Ability to work independently or as a team player.
