About the Role : Successful candidate will support the research and development of Co-Packaged Optics (CPO) activities in the DSRS Team (Device Solutions Research Singapore) alongside with R&D teams in headquarters. Responsibilities Perform fiber array unit (FAU) design, fabrication and assembly for different coupling types, including edge coupling, grating coupling and evanescent coupling, etc. Propose Optical Engine (OE)/Co-Packaged Optics (CPO) system architectures and their packaging solutions to meet design specifications. Provide implementation flow for prototyping and mass production. Perform optical interconnect design and fabrication with optical waveguides, prisms and mirrors, etc. Manage project development for OE/CPO package prototyping and mass production, including product specification definition, design, implementation and test plan. Characterize FAU coupled OE/CPO packages/assemblies and perform FMEA. Propose, plan and execute new OE/CPO package project development. Qualifications PhD or Masters in the field of microelectronics, semiconductors, optics or physics. At least 5 years' experience in photonic packaging design and fabrication. Required Skills Strong domain knowledge and experience in photonic packaging design, implementation and characterization. Knowledge of photonic devices' structures and working principles is required. Proficiency in project planning and execution for OE/CPO packages/assemblies. Experience in new project development is beneficial. Understanding different 3DIC packaging methodologies is a plus. Excellent problem solving, communication and cross functional collaboration skills. Able to work independently, or work in a team to identify and solve complex problems.
