Job Description
Based in the Singapore office of International Baccalaureate reporting to IT Director in Digital Office, this role leads the design, development and maintenance of scalable, reliable, and secure data platforms on Azure. This role will oversee the development and management of the enterprise data warehouse (EDW), data pipelines, and advanced analytics capabilities, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Based in the Singapore office of International Baccalaureate reporting to IT Director in Digital Office, this role leads the design, development and maintenance of scalable, reliable, and secure data platforms on Azure. This role will oversee the development and management of the enterprise data warehouse (EDW), data pipelines, and advanced analytics capabilities, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.
The Senior Manager will be responsible for leading high-performing data engineering teams, collaborating with product managers, Architects and vendors, and ensuring the successful delivery of enterprise data solutions.
Responsibilities
About the Job
Lead the data engineering function, including the development, maintenance, and optimization of the enterprise data warehouse and associated data pipelines on Azure.
Implement the data engineering roadmap, ensuring alignment with the product roadmaps of Data Analytics domain.
Oversee the end-to-end software development lifecycle including design, development, deployment, and support, ensuring timely and quality delivery.
Oversee the design and implementation of scalable data models, ETL/ELT processes, data ingestion frameworks, and real-time data streaming.
Collaborate with Data Analysts, Product Managers, and data architects to deliver robust, timely, and accurate data solutions.
Establish engineering excellence through coding standards, DevOps practices, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
Co-coordinate with project managers, business stakeholders and IT support teams to ensure operational readiness for transitioning projects to business as usual.
Manage third-party vendors and contractors to supplement internal capabilities when required.
Coach, mentor, and develop the data engineering team within the organization.
Qualifications
About You
At least a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
Extensive experience in data engineering with significant experience in leadership roles.
Proven experience building and managing enterprise data platforms, preferably on Azure.
Deep expertise in Azure data services including Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Data Lake Storage, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL, and related tools.
Strong understanding of data architecture, ETL/ELT design patterns, data governance, and security best practices.
Experience managing enterprise data warehouse platforms and supporting business intelligence and advanced analytics use cases.
Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
Experience with Agile methodologies and modern DevOps practices in data engineering.
Ability to build high-performing, motivated, and collaborative teams
Experience managing external service providers
Highly organized and a good multi-tasker
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
