Overview

Work with Programme Director and National Team 3x3 Head Coach to oversee all aspects of the high-performance professional 3x3 basketball team and U21 and 23 Team — ensuring competitive success, sustainable talent pipeline, financial viability, and global visibility. You will be responsible for team performance, brand development, strategic planning, and alignment with FIBA 3x3 systems. You will also report to the Programme Director, Basketball.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic & Competitive Leadership

  • Develop and execute the annual competitive strategy to achieve podium finishes and FIBA ranking targets.
  • Lead planning for seasonal tournaments and events such as FIBA 3x3 World Tour, Challengers, Quest, and invitational events.
  • Oversee athlete rotation, load management, and peak performance cycles with the coaching team.

2. Talent Identification & Development

  • Recruit and retain top-tier athletes suited to 3x3 demands (i.e. versatility, endurance, skill).
  • Collaborate with youth development structures to ensure a sustainable pipeline.
  • Support the full-time professionalization of athletes through contracts, education, and welfare.

3. Operations & Logistics

  • Manage team operations such as travel, accommodation, visas, tournament registration.
  • Ensure compliance with FIBA regulations, anti-doping, and eligibility standards.
  • Set up centralized Daily Training Environment aligned with performance and recovery.

4. Sponsorship & Commercial Development

  • Build and manage multi-tiered sponsorship packages.
  • Drive commercial revenue via merchandising, licensing, and event activation.
  • Engage corporate partners, government agencies, and media for team sustainability.

5. Brand & Media Strategy

  • Shape the team’s identity and promote a strong digital and social media presence.
  • Oversee media relations, content production, and storytelling aligned with youth culture.
  • Act as the public face of the team alongside players.

6. Team Management & Support Services

  • Partner with Programme Director and Head Coach to:
  • Recruit and lead the technical team, e.g. coach, physiotherapist, performance analyst.
  • Establish a high-performance culture built on accountability, continuous learning, and excellence.
  • Coordinate wraparound support such as sport psychology, nutrition, athlete life management.

7. Stakeholder & Federation Engagement

  • Liaise with FIBA 3x3, national federations, and event organizers to secure hosting rights and competition entries.
  • Align team strategy with national sporting objectives such as SEA Games, Olympic qualification.
  • Contribute to long-term athlete development planning if part of a national program.
Qualifications
  • 5–7 years management experience in professional sports or International Federation, preferably in 3x3 Basketball.
  • Strong background in sports management, marketing or performance science.
  • Proven leadership in elite or professional sport, especially in 3x3.
  • Excellent organisational, financial, athlete relations and leadership skills.
  • Strong network within sports ecosystem and able to drive commercial outcomes(i.e. sponsors, federations, media).
  • Experience with budget oversight, contract negotiation, and international event coordination.
  • Deep understanding of FIBA 3x3 ecosystem, ranking system, and event structure.
  • Degree in Sports Management, Business, Marketing, or related field.
