Research Assistant/Associate, Social Scientist (LKCMedicine)The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) trains doctors who put patients at the centre of their exemplary care. The School offers both undergraduate and graduate programmes, is named after local philanthropist Tan Sri Dato Lee Kong Chian, and was established in 2010 by Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in partnership with Imperial College London. LKCMedicine aims to be a model for innovative medical education and a centre for transformative research. The School's primary clinical partner is the National Healthcare Group, a leader in public healthcare recognised for the quality of its medical expertise, facilities and teaching. The School is transitioning to an NTU medical school ahead of the 2028 conclusion of the NTU‐Imperial partnership to set up a Joint Medical School. In August 2024, it welcomed its first intake of the NTU MBBS programme, recently enhanced to include themes such as precision medicine and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare, with an expanded scope in the medical humanities. Graduates of the five‐year undergraduate medical degree programme will have a strong understanding of the scientific basis of medicine, with an emphasis on technology, data science and the humanities. We are looking for a Research Assistant/Research Associate to work on collaborative projects involving the development and implementation of AI tools in clinical practice. The role will focus on supporting the development of survey and interview instruments, administering surveys and interview/focus group discussions, coordinating simulation enactments involving the use of the developed AI tools in primary care and consultation settings, and performing literature review, data analysis and co‐writing of manuscripts. The candidate may also support the team in co‐designing and refining AI models by incorporating social science perspectives. Key Responsibilities Design and implement research projects, including literature review, data collection, and data analyses Conduct and interpret qualitative and quantitative data analyses Assist in coordinating and running research projects, including securing ethics approval and supporting daily operational and administrative duties Support logistics matters, e.g., set up and operate audiovisual equipment, video recording and editing, for experiments and medical simulation sessions Coordinate with collaborators and third‐party service providers to recruit participants and secure facilities, labs, and equipment for research activities Actively contribute to the preparation of manuscript drafts for peer‐reviewed journals and conferences Support the development of grant proposals Conduct and organise project meetings Undertake any additional project duties as required by the supervisor Competencies And Educational Requirements Bachelor's degree (Research Assistant) or Master's degree (Research Associate) in social sciences such as behavioural sciences, public health, communication, human‐AI interaction, psychology or related fields Knowledge and experience in quantitative and qualitative research methods and tools, using analysis software such as SPSS, Dedoose, MPlus Demonstrated experience in scientific writing through publications in medicine, public health or social sciences literature; final‐year dissertations/theses accepted as writing samples Strong administrative, communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently, meticulous attention to detail, excellent organisational and time‐management skills At least one year of work experience in healthcare or social‐science research or related discipline preferred Knowledge or experience in clinical/medicine settings and/or human‐AI interaction will be advantageous Knowledge in setting up and operating audio‐visual equipment for medical simulations and experiments will be advantageous Ability to develop strategic and collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders in a fast‐paced environment Experience with securing and managing research grants preferred Seniority level Mid‐Senior level Employment type Full‐time Hiring Institution: LKC #J-18808-Ljbffr
