About The Job Google's software engineers develop next‐generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google's needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as our fast‐paced business evolves. In this role, you will build Cloud Interconnect, which virtualizes the edge and foundation and allows enterprise customers to connect their on‐premises data centers/networks to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) at 100 and 10 Gb/s speed. Interconnect is a high‐impact project that helps onboard large enterprises. You will also connect smaller customers through partners, and build ultra‐low‐latency interconnects to support large file stores and databases operated by third parties adjacent to Google data centers. You will manage complexity from physical network and routers through cloud virtualization. The AI and Infrastructure team is redefining what's possible. Design, develop, and scale cloud networking products and infrastructure to enable the hybrid cloud technical roadmap, ensuring availability, reliability, and performance. Advocate and drive engineering and operational excellence. Create designs for complex projects and collaborate with cross‐functional teams to deliver on ambitious goals.
