JOB DESCRIPTION Subject teachers are informed, reflective practitioners who use inquiry-based teaching strategies to create positive learning environments that motivate and challenge learners to become proactive, life‐long learners and leaders. As a member of our Secondary Visual Art department, you will be teaching groups of learners between years 7 to 13 (ages 11 to 18). We deliver the IB MYP, IGCSE (Cambridge), and IBDP across the Secondary school. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Employ effective pedagogy that enables children to become successful and self-regulated learners who achieve personal excellence. Build learning-focused relationships. Empower children to become independent learners. Use appropriate assessment tools for formative and summative assessment. Use assessment information to plan progression. Provide high-quality scaffolding and feedback to learners. Encourage learners to reflect on their learning. Engage learners in setting learning goals. Involve parents in their children’s learning through learner‐led conferences and regular parent–teacher dialogue. Employ and integrate IT to enhance learning. Support learners to solve authentic problems related to real‐world situations. Collaborate positively within a team and across teams. Meet the Nexus Teacher Professional Standards, aspire to grow and develop and be committed to professional learning. Involve in whole‐school events and activities as required. Work with learners as a form tutor as assigned, helping them set and achieve personal goals. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS A recognised teaching qualification. Bachelor’s degree (or higher qualification) in Education, Fine Arts, Visual Arts Education, or a related field. Evidence of continued relevant professional development. Experience working with bilingual and multilingual learners and learners with diverse needs. At least 2 years of relevant experience in an international school environment where the school curriculum focused on IBMYP, IGCSE or IBDP (preferred).
