Roles & Responsibilities Job Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Psychotherapist to join our team at a Special Kids Intervention Centre. The successful candidate will support children and adolescents with special or developmental needs with a variety of mental health problems and emotion difficulties. You will provide psychological treatments to our children and their families, using evidence-based approaches to develop a better sense of self-awareness so that changes can be made to improve their emotional well-being, mental health, and social development and be able to function better in the school or work environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide individual and group psychotherapy to children and adolescents with special needs, addressing emotional, behavioural, and developmental issues. Develop and implement personalised therapeutic plans tailored to the specific needs of each child. Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine the child’s emotional and psychological health. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and educators) to provide integrated care. Offer family therapy and counselling to support parents and caregivers in understanding and managing their child’s condition. Monitor progress and adapt therapeutic strategies as needed to meet the evolving needs of the children. Maintain accurate records of sessions, progress notes, and assessments in compliance with ethical and legal standards. Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and professional development sessions to enhance skills and knowledge in special needs care. Provide psycho-education and resources to families and other team members to support the ongoing care of the children. Qualifications and Requirements: Minimum of Diploma in Psychology/Counselling. Degree/Post Grad Diploma/Masters in Psychology/Counselling/ Family Therapy/Social Work, or a related field are preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children, particularly those with special needs (Autism, ADHD, GAD, DMDD, OCD, CD etc.). Strong understanding of child development, mental health disorders, and therapeutic approaches for children with special needs. Excellent writing, communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to improving the quality of life for children with special needs.
