DevSecOps Role Overview

As a DevSecOps specialist, you will be instrumental in harmonizing development, operations, and security practices throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Continuous Integration and Deployment: Collaborate in designing, maintaining, and troubleshooting continuous integration and deployment pipelines. Automate build, test, and deployment processes for applications and infrastructure. Monitor pipeline performance to ensure seamless delivery cycles.
  • Cloud Infrastructure Management: Assist in provisioning, configuring, and maintaining cloud and on-premises infrastructure using tools such as AWS. Support infrastructure as code (IaC) practices using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain scripts (e.g., Python, Bash) to automate routine tasks and system operations. Contribute to the development of automated workflows for application deployment and environment setup.
  • Collaboration and Team Engagement: Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions. Participate in team discussions to discuss requirements, progress, and challenges. Communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Monitoring and Incident Response: Assist in setting up and maintaining monitoring, logging, and alerting systems for applications and infrastructure. Support incident response activities, including troubleshooting and resolving operational issues.
  • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Maintain clear documentation for pipeline configurations, infrastructure setups, and troubleshooting steps. Contribute to the development and updating of standard operating procedures and best practice guides.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Understanding of DevOps concepts, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and version control (e.g., Git).
  • Exposure to automation tools and infrastructure as code is beneficial.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
