ROLE: Associate (Commercial Dispute Resolution / Family Law)PQE requirement: NQ to 5 years SILLC is a boutique-sized practice that manages commercial disputes for domestic and international clients, as well as private client matters (matrimonial, trusts, etc.). We work our cases as a team, with a lead counsel, "2nd Chair" and assisting counsel. Our goals for our youngest team members are focused on improving core skills in persuasive oral and written advocacy, client management skills and the fundamentals of the business of law. Junior lawyers can expect to receive direct mentorship from our Managing Director, Mr Salem, with the expectation to develop into competent "2nd Chairs" and maturing into lead counsel in their own right over time. All lawyers who work with us are involved in all aspects of working a file, and exposed to a range of practice areas, so that you will be able to ascertain where your strengths and passions lie. Uplift in remuneration, standing and responsibilities will be triggered by demonstration of skills, with consistent reviews being provided. Our firm is tech-forward. We are a BYOD firm, with IT programs to co-share purchases with you, to ensure you have the best hardware. We work with litigation support companies to use their tools and even enhance them. We work with IT specialists for data collection, and are entirely cloud-based in our data management and communications. Our current work format involves a typical work week split between remote and in office work times. Our office premises has facilities including individual offices complete with ergonomic sit/stand desk and multi-monitor setup that operates from a plug-and-play docking station. The ideal candidate should have litigation experience, and familiarity with civil procedure rules. Training in ADR (arbitration and/or mediation) would be an advantage, as are any additional language capabilities. This role will only be suited for candidates who are willing to work hard to develop their legal repertoire, and with genuine interest in serving their clients with integrity and solving their problems. Remuneration for this position will be commensurate with work experience and PQE, and benchmarked against available market data, and known practice rates for boutique firms.
