An exciting opportunity has opened for a Careers Counsellor at the Australian International School If you are passionate about making a positive impact and driven by growth and development, this role is perfect for youPosition Requirements: A minimum four-year recognised teaching qualification including a Bachelor’s Degree and Teaching Diploma or a Bachelor of Education. EAL Qualifications would be an advantage. A minimum of 3 years full-time teaching experience in a recognised educational institution. Experience teaching EAL in a school with an established English as a Second Language Department is preferred. Excellent communication, information technology, multitasking, and time management skills. Strong organisational ability and the ability to meet deadlines. Experience in university/college admissions around the world, or high school college counseling, is preferred. Understanding of the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IBDP) and Higher School Certificate (HSC) is advantageous. Strong interpersonal communication skills. Familiarity with the goals, objectives, and mission of an independent college preparatory school. Ability to respond effectively to the needs of a diverse student and parent population. Knowledge of universities/colleges, their academic programs, admission policies, and financial procedures. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required. Master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred. At least three years of experience in an international environment. Minimum 3 years in an academic and college counseling role. Experience advising students on Australian pathways, UCAS, and the CommonApp. Experience advising students for various countries and scholarship applications.
