Preschool Educator Job Description

This role is focused on delivering high-quality educational experiences for young children.

  • Main Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with the curriculum, fostering a love for learning in children.

    • Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that promotes social, emotional, and cognitive development.

    • Prepare and deliver lessons with clear objectives, differentiated tasks, and assessment methods to cater to diverse learning needs.

    • Utilize various teaching strategies (songs, games, storytelling) to support holistic development and make learning enjoyable.

    • Maintain accurate child development records and produce portfolios/reports to track progress.

    • Foster professional relationships with colleagues and parents, ensuring open communication and collaboration.

    • Provide guidance and support to assistant teachers in daily tasks, promoting teamwork and shared responsibilities.

    • Ensure classroom organisation and care of resources, maintaining a clean and tidy workspace.

    • Uphold confidentiality and protect the centre's intellectual property, adhering to data protection policies.

    • Adhere to assigned work schedules, demonstrating flexibility and reliability.

  • Requirements:

    • Diploma in Preschool Teaching (DPT) or Diploma in Early Childhood Education, demonstrating a strong foundation in child development and education principles.

    • A friendly and approachable demeanor, with a genuine passion for working with children.

    • A willingness to learn, take guidance, and grow in the role, embracing ongoing professional development.

    • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a supportive team, open to sharing ideas and expertise.
