Senior Enzyme Engineer Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Enzyme Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our research group, you will be responsible for developing novel enzymes and biotransformations for the synthesis of rare sugars.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a recently granted project that focuses on enzyme engineering, directed evolution, and biosynthesis optimization.

Main Responsibilities:

• Enzyme Development:
• Design and engineer new enzymes through directed evolution techniques
• Investigation and Optimization:
• Analyze enzyme catalysis and kinetics to optimize biosynthesis yield and process efficiency
• Biosynthesis Process Development:
• Develop single-step and/or one-pot cascade enzymatic reactions for the production of rare sugars

Requirements:

• Qualifications:
• PhD in biochemical engineering, biocatalysis, biotransformation, biochemistry, biotechnology, synthetic biology, or bioorganic chemistry
• Experience:
• Proven experience in enzyme engineering, directed evolution, enzymatic reactions, carbohydrates biosynthesis, reaction engineering, and process development
• Skills:
• Excellent communication skills in oral and written English
• Strong publication record
