Job Title: Kitchen Support Specialist
Kitchen support specialists play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of kitchen environments. In this position, you will assist cooks in preparing and arranging food while maintaining cleanliness and orderliness.
About the Role:
The assistant cook assists the head chef or senior cook in managing the kitchen, which includes cooking, cleaning, and organization. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist cooks with food preparation activities such as cleaning, cutting, chopping, and peeling ingredients
  • Clean and sanitize the food preparation areas according to industry hygiene codes and health and safety standards
  • Wash, disinfect, and store cooking and kitchen utensils and equipment properly
  • Buy, weigh, and store ingredients and food supplies efficiently
  • Operate various kitchen appliances and instruments safely and effectively
  • Manage inventory, unload supplies, and organize the storeroom for maximum efficiency
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to employee productivity
  • Maintain clean work areas, utensils, and equipment at all times
  • Develop new menu items and improve existing ones through creativity and experimentation
Requirements:
  • Able to cook a variety of cuisines, including North Indian dishes
  • Able to perform shift work as needed
  • Demonstrated knowledge of kitchen sanitation and safety procedures
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
  • Friendly and approachable demeanor with excellent communication skills
