Join to apply for the Piping Engineer role at Seatrium Overview Join to apply for the Piping Engineer role at Seatrium Responsibilities Administers, monitors and ensures that all operations conform to safety requirements and maintains high safety standards. Plan, prioritize and execute repair activity based on defect lists provided by the ship owner, using available resources and facilities. Provide information to APM for CM39 requisitions. Coordinate and disseminate all repair activities in the repair process with supervisors, yardmen and contractors according to the Department Work Instruction and specifications. Attend vessel safety coordination meetings to ensure repairs are carried out safely and in compliance with statutory, regulatory and contractual requirements. Attend department production meetings to coordinate work progress, update schedules and define scope of work. Highlight critical path and communicate with the Ship Repair Manager to achieve milestones and prevent cost overruns. Liaise with Ship Repair Manager / Billing Dept about variations and additional work; raise variation orders for work not stated in the specs. Liaise with relevant trades toward milestone completion. Ensure all completed works are documented and verified by the client. Control costs through Just In Time material ordering, proper manpower deployment and reporting, rework prevention, and continuous improvement to meet EVA, KPI and department targets. Provide feedback to HOD on non-conformances and document in incident reports with follow-up on corrective actions. Liaise with the Superintendent for critical activities and provide technical proposals. Ensure proper usage of department assets and report non-conformances. Ensure personnel safety by complying with Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Regulations, HSE procedures and conduct risk assessments before starting work; counsel employees as needed. Participate in preparation of Safe Work, Environmental control and Emergency procedures, and audit matters (e.g., ISO 9001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001:2015). Ensure that all Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality (HSEQ) plans are followed; perform Safe Management/Distancing duties when assigned. Any other associated tasks and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Diploma in Marine Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or NTC 3 certification or equivalent, or completed apprenticeship in Marine Piping and Plumbing. Preferably with 2 years’ working experience in a similar role. Effective planning, supervisory, conflict management and interpersonal skills. Problem solving and decision making skills. Ability to communicate in additional languages (e.g., Mandarin, Tamil, Malay) is a plus. Basic knowledge of piping standards and compliance with codes (e.g., ASME B31.3, ASME IX, IACS). Resourceful, dynamic, leadership, team player, customer-oriented and able to work under pressure.
