Senior Finance Manager
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Finance Manager (“Steward of Coins”) to join our rapidly growing startup. This individual will play a critical role in building and scaling our financial operations, working closely with the Head of Operations, Chip Wilcox, and our Founders, Rohit Jha and Dr. Mohammad Danesh. The ideal candidate possesses a strong accounting background, preferably with experience in a fast growing startup firm, and a demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. A commitment to operational excellence and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset are essential.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Core Accounting & Finance
Manage day-to-day accounting and finance functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger maintenance, and bank reconciliations.
Perform month-end and quarter-end close processes, ensuring timely completion and reporting progress, issues, and solutions to the Head of Operations and Founders.
Ensure accurate and timely recording, reconciliation, and filing of local GST transactions with IRAS.
Manage banking relationships and transactions with HSBC, UOB, Amex and other service providers.
Conduct financial statement analysis and contribute to the preparation of quarterly board of directors and investor reports.
Develop and implement robust financial models for inventory management, cost accounting, and production planning to optimize manufacturing operations.
Collaborate with team leads, the Head of Operations, and Founders on budget planning, analysis, and reporting, comparing planned vs. actual performance.
Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, financial statement preparation, equity valuation modeling, and reporting.
Systems & Process Improvement
Contribute to the planning and implementation of new processes and systems, including MRP (Manufacturing Resource Planning) and accounting system integration, and automation using third-party services.
Continuously improve and streamline reporting, accounting, and cash management processes related to manufacturing, quality management, and supply chain.
Stakeholder Management & Reporting
Liaise with external auditors during year-end audits.
Support investor relations activities, providing accurate and timely information and analysis to existing and prospective investors.
Process, analyze, and interpret large financial datasets to support investor communication and engagement materials, presenting complex information clearly and concisely.
Other Responsibilities
Process financial transactions, including payroll, vendor payments, and expense reimbursements, obtaining necessary founder approvals.
Identify and pursue relevant business grants, coordinating application submissions in Singapore and internationally.
Work with in-house Buyer & Manufacturing Team to structure favourable payment terms with suppliers/vendors for effective stock and inventory management.
QUALIFICATIONS
What you will bring:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting & Corporate Finance or equivalent, with 5-7 years of relevant experience.
Strong understanding of IFRS and GAAP, and consolidations.
Working knowledge of Singapore accounting standards, compliance, and tax regulations.
Proven experience in managing financial operations for a manufacturing company, with a strong understanding of inventory finance and manufacturing cost accounting.
Proactive, self-motivated, and collaborative team player. Ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.
Demonstrated ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, etc.).
It is a bonus if you:
CFA (any level) or MBA Finance is preferred but not necessary.
Experience working with Auditors
Experience with cloud accounting systems and MRP systems.
Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment, preferably in deep tech hardware.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-accounting professionals.
Working knowledge of US/Australia accounting standards, compliance, and tax regulations.
