Overview
Manager, Critical Facilities Engineer role at Equinix in Singapore. Lead the SG1 and SG3 operations teams, oversee the Critical Facilities Engineer team, and ensure that new expansions are delivered on time to meet Equinix’s standards. Guiding a high-performing team toward operational excellence with a focus on maintaining zero downtime across data centers, while managing workforce planning and performance to support growth objectives.
Responsibilities
Team Management
Manages a team of critical facilities engineers (electrical, mechanical, and controls)
Leads teams to work safely, effectively, with emphasis on avoiding human error
Oversee personnel management functions, including performance evaluations, role positioning, employee reviews, mentoring, and professional development
Site Management
Supervise regular preventative maintenance activities
Develop and manage routine operational plans, ensuring targets are met in alignment with monthly objectives
Implement innovative strategies to proactively address and prevent potential issues
Incident Management
Strive for zero downtime in mission-critical facility environments
Communicate and coordinate activities with on-site staff during incidents
Supervise root cause analysis and help resolve incidents effectively
Implement emergency and disaster mitigation strategies
Project Management
Manage complex projects to include project budget and scope; designate work to team
Collaborate with global and regional teams to support various initiatives and projects
Vendor Management
Oversees contractor work and operations to meet Equinix standards, KPIs and SLAs
Ensures compliance with relevant regulations and company policies; conduct regular audits and assessments
Testing
Ensure correct processes are followed and all documentation is complete
Takeover of new builds and building infrastructure
Requirements
Typically, over 7 years of relevant experience in Data Center or Mission Critical industries
Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred
Demonstrated ability to manage and develop a diverse team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment
Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct root cause analysis and provide effective solutions to incidents
Proven experience in vendor management, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company policies
