Description Responsibilities Assist the WSHO and ECO in the implementation and maintenance of the Health Safety and Environmental Management System. Inspect and monitor construction operations to ensure they are carried out safely. Promote the safe conduct of work generally within the work site. Inspect and monitor rectification work of any unsafe practices or conditions that may likely result in accident. Liaise with subcontractors' Site Supervisor and WSH Coordinator regarding health and safety compliance for work undertaken by sub‑contractor. Ensure all workers and staff are equipped with the necessary PPE for the work. Assist in conducting Risk Assessment, Safe Work Procedure, Method Statement, and briefing site personnel. Assist in conducting Mass Tool Box Meetings. Inspect, monitor and verify all statutory equipment are with valid certification and in good working condition. Ensure all Lifting Gear, Lifting Machine, Lifting Appliance, etc. conform to monthly colour coding. Ensure all necessary documents are filed and documented. Assist in provision and maintenance of proper first aid facilities and sufficient safety equipment. Conduct HSE induction courses for new employees and sub‑contractors and organize site promotions and generally promote safety on site. Assist the WSHO in collecting information and preparing statutory and site reports. Assist and take charge in the event of an accident and organize treatment and evacuation of the injured, notification of emergency services and notification of project management. Work closely with the construction team to ensure that safe working practices are implemented and followed on site and take immediate action to remedy unsafe conditions and practices. Recommend to the WSHO if disciplinary actions are necessary to enforce HSE regulations and procedures. Requirements WSH Certification: Hold an Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health (Level B). Relevant experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in the construction field. Legal knowledge: Demonstrate strong knowledge of the Workplace Safety and Health Act. Tech Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Willing to work 5.5 days/week at project site office. Conversant with MS Office software. #J-18808-Ljbffr
